The Power of Your Words

This past Mercury retrograde was a bit of a doozy for relationships, as Mercury began its retrograde in Libra, the sign that rules relationships, and then ended its retrograde in Virgo, the sign that purifies and streamlines. Virgo is great at seeing all the details, cleaning things up, and getting things exactly where they belong. Libra is all about the other, balance, and harmonizing. Mercury’s recent journey with these two signs is significant as its about to handle some business with Pluto on Thursday.

Mercury will move into a perfect trine with Pluto tomorrow and when these two planets aspect one another it’s helpful to remember that our words have power.

This transit can bring things to mind that come from the deepest parts of ourselves. Mercury in Virgo can see clearly and is discerning. It spots all the details. You may see a situation in your life from a new perspective, and you may feel a need to get something off your chest. It may be hard to keep what you're thinking to yourself. It is Libra season, which is a time where there is a lot of focus on the other, so this may show up in your relationships.

In November when Mercury moves into Scorpio, passes the south node and then meets up with the Sun and Venus, we will have purged something. We will find that we're in a place that may feel more raw, but more honest. The Solar Eclipse on October 25 will only help usher in this new place we're headed.

Sometimes people aren't ready to hear our "truth", not that we have to hide ourselves for the sake of others, but it's important to remember that just because we have something to say doesn't mean that we need to share it. Let that truth live inside of you and give it time. While Mercury is a planet that moves quickly and changes direction frequently, Pluto moves slowly. While Pluto is in Capricorn, a sign that is all about the long haul, we can expect these changes we make to take place over a long period of time. This quick moment of time when Mercury and Pluto are aspecting one another will just bring these deep changes to a more conscious level. Depending on how this aspect plays out in your birth chart, it may bring some things up for you.
